Emma Hopkins DIPABRSM
Emma has over two decades of professional experience in the music industry. From the age of 10, she starred as the lead in two UK tours of Annie, later performing in London’s West End as ‘Brat’ in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Whistle Down The Wind. An accomplished violinist and pianist, Emma developed her passion for songwriting and has collaborated with acclaimed writers such as Eliot Kennedy (Take That, Bryan Adams), the Invisible Men (Rita Ora, Iggy Azalea) and Steve Booker (Duffy, John Newman).
She is the founder of Perfect Pitch, a children’s choir that has achieved national recognition. The choir has performed with artists including Gary Barlow, Alfie Boe, Collabro and Kerry Ellis, and reached millions of viewers on Britain’s Got Talent with their live semi-final performance of Friend Like Me from Aladdin. They are featured regularly on the BBC and were crowned BBC Songs of Praise Choir of the Year. International highlights also include a showcase at the Olympic Stadium in Barcelona during the World Mobile Congress, where they performed Rihanna’s Diamonds.
In addition, Emma established Tilly Studios, which has become a creative hub for young performers. Students regularly stage productions such as Matilda, Annie, Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland. The purpose-built studio now features its own theatre, offering students frequent opportunities to perform in a professional setting.
Emma is also a regular session singer at Steelworks Recording Studios in Great Longstone, contributing to a wide range of projects. She recently recorded all the vocals for Netflix’s stage adaptation of Cocomelon, which launched its worldwide tour at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
Alongside her teaching and performing work, Emma continues to write and develop new projects, including a musical in collaboration with Eliot Kennedy (Finding Neverland, Broadway) and producer Tom Barker.
